Made by my beautiful and talented wife. This is a drip specimen of fordite / Detroit Agate / Motor Agate. She has shaped the top and drilled a hole in it for a chain. She has also exposed beautiful designs within the Fordite. Fordite, also known as Detroit agate or cheapest Motor City agate, is old automotive paint which has hardened sufficiently to be cut and polished. It was formed from the buildup of layers of enamel paint slag on tracks and skids on which cars were hand spray-painted, which have been baked numerous times.
